Are you having a hard time getting your day started due to tightness and stiffness?!
Most business professionals deal with pain and stiffness on a daily basis as if it was just a normal part of life and aging. Whereas part of that is true, it’s not always the case and medication isn’t always the answer. We tend to let it go for far too long to where our body accepts it as a normal feeling and we just deal with pain. But this can drain your energy.
There are many alternatives as this can be a costly issue if not given any attention. Sometimes you just need to give your body a little daily care so the issue doesn’t turn into a constant pain. A great way to alleviate the tension, stiffness, pain, and thus stress is to start your day with the foam roller.
You don’t have to be an expert on foam rolling as just rolling out the main muscle groups can provide a lot of relief and help you maintain relaxation longer.
Common areas such as the quads, hamstrings, glutes, piriformis, and IT Band can hold a lot of tension. But one of my favorite areas to foam roll is the back. When you can cover a broad area like this you release multiple areas at once but also give pressure to the rib cage which is a major contributor to pain and restrictions with movement.
Especially if you’re someone who works a desk job or sits a lot. This will help take the pressure off between the shoulder blades and may even help alleviate neck pain.
Don’t make your life harder. Roll out the tension!
